OBJECTIVE

To acquire and practice the first aid skills of the FREEdom First Aid Process℠ to maintain a healthy professional and personal life in the midst of the day-to-day situations and experiences, critical incidents, and injuries a first responder will encounter in the performance of their duties.

SUCCESS STORY

“Being a law enforcement officer, we see things a normal person shouldn't see or would never see in their lifetime. Dealing with traumatic situations and going to the next call, expected to pretend everything is OK. In those traumatic situations, sometimes we blame our self and ask, “What could I have done different? If I could've gotten there 2 minutes faster, I could have saved that baby?” The FREEdom First Aid Process℠, allows you to process the trauma and deal with it in a safe manner, where you don't carry an unnecessary burden. The FREEdom Process course should be an integral part on any first responders training. If you are thinking of taking this course, we highly recommend it.”

THE LINE OF DUTY

First responders such as law enforcement personnel, firefighters/paramedics, EMTs, emergency room medical staffs and military personnel experience constant exposure to incidents that can result in acute and cumulative trauma. Studies show that providing forward treatment techniques allows individuals to properly process and store the day-to-day experiences to keep their most important tool – they're brain - healthy. In present day culture, we believe this education is not only necessary, but imperative for anyone in the line of duty.

THE FREEDOM FIRST AID PROCESS℠

While many wellness programs revolve around cursory preventative care or recognizing symptom presentation of trauma, this process provides first responders with the tools to immediately take steps to keep their experiences from negatively defining their futures both professionally and personally. In order to successfully to perform their duties, first responders need to have a Focus and Fix it mentality. This is the ability to be safe and to make quick decisions based on the totality of the circumstances and their experience and training according to their department’s policies and procedures despite what is going on in or around them.

METHODOLOGY

The structure of the course materials and teaching approach is what makes The FREEdom First Aid Process℠ highly effective and applicable to real life situations. Our methodology utilizes modules that explore targeted themes, data & research, detailed course materials, scenarios (verbal, video and live), facilitation of discussion, group activity, and PowerPoint presentations. By applying the tools in this course, first responders can increase their stress inoculation which allows them to maintain control in critical incidents.
